Reacting to Ghana’s 1 all stalemate with Gabon in their group c clash, leading member of the incumbent, New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Otchere in giving his thoughts on the match indicated that the national team did not do enough to merit a win and that the draw was a fair reflection of the match.
It is his believe the team played with no game plan and relied on moments of individual brilliance which was non-existent and the only moment they succeeded in knitting one or two passes is what resulted in Dede Ayew’s 19 minute goal.
Gabby shared his thoughts on the match in a social media post saying, “Ghana did not deserve to win. That simple. Only one moment of brilliance – the Ayew goal. The rest was a bundle of rudderless mediocre. The coach, frankly, is a disaster. He was happy to sit dangerously on a 1 nil advantage and it predictably ended to our disadvantage. Sad!”
Ghana was given a soccer punch in the dying minutes of their match against Gabon as they equalized on the 90th minute mark after the Ghana national team took the lead in the 19th minute of the first half.
Ghana’s draw with Gabon means they are with just a point after playing 2 games in the African Cup of Nations, meaning their qualifying out of their group is no longer in their hands but rest on results elsewhere that is if they are able to do their own job by getting a win in their final group game against Comoros.
