Kuami Eugene Enstooled As Chief In His Village

Kuami Eugene has received great honour as he has been named youth chief or ‘Mmrantehene’ in the Ghanaian local Twi language at Tepa in the Ashanti Region. The enstoolment happened in conjunction with a live concert the artiste had in Tepa.

It has now become common practice to see our local artistes in the industry enstooled in their villages, with the likes of Fameye, Wendy Shay all having been honoured with chieftancy in their villages and now latest on the list of musicians to receive such honour is Kuami Eugene.

Being seen as role models for the many youth in the country, the current phenomenon of honouring artistes with chieftaincy titles is good as the extra responsibility that comes with the title will serve to keep them in check as their line of work sometimes pushes them into extremities.

Kuami Eugene’s enstoolment was a lovely affair as during his live concert in Tepa, the enstoolment party came on stage while Kuami was giving the crowd back to back hits to start with the process amid cheers from the crowd who were happy for their idol.
