Renowned Ghanaian investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni, has made a damning assessment of Akufo-Addo and his Government, asserting that Ghana has a President and not a leader, also making a worrying statement that Ghana is yet to have a leader in the ilk of the Nation’s first-ever President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
He painted a gloomy picture of the country’s current state, insisting the country has a President and not a leader. “As we sit here, we have a president. We don’t have a leader.”
In a discussion on TV3 , “The keypoints”, in a review of the past year, the Managing Editor of the Fourth Estate expressed his believe that a leader similar to that of the Inspector General of Police is what Ghana truly needs. Manasseh waxed lyrical about the IGP, drumming home some of the exploits of Dr. George Akuffo Dampaare and his ability to change the narrative surrounding the police force in the country.
“The [Ghana] Police Service was one institution that people didn’t believe in but Dr Dampare has changed the narrative. Report a case and the next minute you are arrested. That kind of leadership gives Ghana hope.” He noted .
