IGP Daampare Places Injunction On Five Officers For Extorting Money From Drivers

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Daampare continues to endear himself and uplift the image of the police force in the eyes of Ghanaians with his leadership style.

In his latest act that is sure to endear him even more to Ghanaians, the Inspector General of Police is said to have placed five officers of the National Highways Patrol team for allegedly extorting money from drivers as they drive by under injunction.

The injunction placed on the officers follows what is Daampare’s solemn pledge to purge the Ghana police force of corrupt practices such as taking of bribes, extortion and also to restore public trust in the police force.

The officers to have suffered the injunction are, C/INSPR William Tawiah, NO. 40845 G/SGT Ibrahim Iddi, NO.40921 G/SGT Richard Otoo NO.44040 G/SGT Samuel Kumah and NO.55125 G/CPL Richard Kpeanaah with “all weapons, uniforms and other police accoutrements in their possession” collected into safe custody.
