E-Levy Is A Bad Policy – Christiana Awuni

Ghanaian actress Christiana Awuni has come out to join majority of Ghanaians to voice her displeasure at Government’s decision to introduce the new e-levy tax which would attract a 1.75% charge on all electronic money transactions.

Majority of Ghanaians have come out to condemn the government for being insensitive to the plight of the people as it seeks to burden the already burden with new taxes and independent institution has also come out to label the policy as regressive, but the government continues to forge on in its decision to implement the e-levy.

Sharing her thoughts on the e-levy in an interview with Ghanaian blogger, Zionfelix, the actress labeled the e-levy as not being a good initiative, bemoaning the broken systems in the country and questioned how Government could introduce new taxes when many are unemployed and those who work are underpaid adding that the levy should be abolished.

The actress also revealed in the same interview that she has stopped going to church due to the bad intentions pastors haboured against her, with many of them wanting to have her in between the sheets
