Member of Parliament the Yendi constituency and son of late former Vice-President Alhaji Aliu Mahama, Farouk Aliu Mahama, has expressed his desire and willingness to improve on education in Yendi.
Also making known his desire to create the write ecosystem to stimulate effective teaching and learning in his constituency.
“Education is the only way we can bridge the gab between the North and South and we can collectively achieve this when the needed infrastructure is put in place and that’s what I’m determined to do” he said.
Speaking during the commissioning of a renovated Primary School Gbambaya in Yendi, the member of parliament and lawmaker observed that the future of Dagbon and the people of Yendi rest on the shoulders of the young ones.
“I remain dedicated to ensuring an enhanced living condition of my constituents and will continue to forge ahead until my objectives are realized” he said.
He noted that the renovation of the Primary School block is in fulfillment of his promise to the people to give the school a much needed facelift. Adding that the school is to create an enabling environment to support effective teaching and learning
He donated GHC2,000 to the teachers of the school and also presented 3 motorbikes, GHC10,000 and 15 mobile phones to the communication team of the constituency.
