Alexander Akuoku, National Democratic Congress 2020 parliamentary candidate for the Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro constituency, has name checked the member of parliament for the Fomena constituency, Andrew Asiamah for being unprincipled and cowardly and for that reason is not deserving to represent the people of Fomena.
He noted that Andrew Asiamah has failed to put the interest of the people of Fomena foremost and has sided with the ruling Government to impose the e-levy tax on a people who are already overburdened with tax responsibilities.
Alexander Akuoku noted that parliament is split in equal halves and Andrew Asiamah would have been the game changer in ensuring the e-levy is kicked against but unfortunately he has decided to side with the Government in imposing the draconian tax on Ghanaians
“I am surprised about his stance because there was a reason God made sure there was an independent candidate in parliament. The vote on the e-levy presents an opportunity for the independent candidate to fight for the interest of Ghana. At any point in time he is a deciding factor on any issue that goes on in parliament and if he had maintained a neutral stance we wouldn’t have been at an impasse,” he said
“But cowardly because he fears the NPP, he sided with them and I think his constituents must take note of this and when contests for the position as an MP again they should vote against him. He is not truthful to his constituents who saved him the disgrace of the NPP”, Alexander Akuoku said in on Happy 98.9 FM
