Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Okudzeto Ablakwa is not giving up on pushing the Government of today to make public the total cost of the President’s crusade across Europe.
Yesterday the Minister for National Security, Kan Dapaah stood before floor of parliament and stated that asking for the full disclosure of the president’s travel costs borders of National Security and is therefore not a topic that should be openely discussed.
But Okudzeto Ablakwa is having none of it, describing the Government’s lack of transparency and accountability in matters relating to the president’s travels expenses as a grand conspiracy.
“Having been caught out, they are embarrassed and do not want to put out the information, and it is really sad.”
“This is just an effort to conceal information. It is a grand conspiracy to hide behind national security and not be accountable to the Ghanaian people,” Mr. Ablakwa said.
When asked why he was on this crusade, the MP said he was “pursuing this for greater accountability and greater transparency and to end the profligacy.”
