Hearts Of Oak Board Show Confidence In Samuel Boadu, Say He Will Not Be Sacked

A member of the Accra Hearts of Oak Board, Alhaji Akambi has given as an insight into the thinking of the Accra Hearts of Oak Board, insisting that they have no intention of parting ways with club coach Samuel Boadu despite their poor showing in Africa and poor form in the domestic league.

The reigning champions of the Ghana premier league suffered a humiliating exit from Africa after crashing out of the champions league play-offs in a 6-2 aggregate scoreline against Wydad Athletic Club.

Their exit from the champions league play-offs meant they dropped into the CAF confederations cup and they started their campaign in a positive note, coming out 2-0 winners in their home match against JS Saoura at the Accra Sports Stadium, but they went on to lose the reverse leg 4-0 meaning they lost 4-2 on aggregate as they crushed out of the CAF Confederations cup.

There have been suggestions that Hearts of Oak could part ways with their coach, but Board member, Alhaji Akambi has come out to repose the Board’s confidence in club coach, Samuel Boadu.

“As a board, we have never discussed sacking Samuel Boadu. From Algeria, we have not even talked about anything on Boadu getting sacked with the other board members in Accra.

“The focus is on getting our team back to winning ways and it begins with the impending games in the Ghana Premier League. Our attention is not even on sacking the head coach,” he added.
