The President of Ghana and chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has pledged to step down after completing his 2nd term in office as President of the Republic of Ghana as enshrined in the constitution of Ghana and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) protocol on democracy and good governance.
He reiterated that good governance must be devoid of political manipulations to stay in power or office beyond what is enshrined in the of one’s country.
The president of Ghana also doubling as the Chairman of ECOWAS, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo made this pledge while speaking on ECOWAS’ resolve restore democracy, peace and stability to Mali Guinea at the 2021 Kofi Annan Peace and Security Forum at the Kofi Annan Peace Keeping Centre in Accra.
“I must at the outset congratulate Ghana’s distinguished diplomat , the chair of the Kofi Annan Peace and Security Forum, Dr Mohamed Ibn Chambas on his new appointment as ECOWAS Envoy to Guinea.”
