Ghana Premier League side, Great Olympics have announced that the club a multi-year deal with one of the very big companies in the country, the Mac Dan Group of Companies. The contract which has a three year life span will earn the Ghana Premier League team $270,000 every year.
Great Olympics will receive $100,000 every each season with the rest of the money being tied to on the field performances related clauses. Great Olympics stands to earn an extra $100,000 if they win the league $50,000 should they lift the FA Cup trophy and $20,000 if they finish in the top four of the league table.
Making an appearance in an African competition or winning the Confederation of African Football (CAF) champions league will activate a clause in which the company would be liable to invest a whooping $10 million into the construction of a 30,000 seater stadium for the club
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chief Executive of the McDan Group, Daniel Mckorley, expressed his huge aspiration for both the football club and the company, saying that it is his hope that the partnership between the two entities will proof a fruitful endeavor for both parties
“I expect Great Olympics not to disgrace me. I expect them to perform; and I expect them to respect the brand, the sponsor and the sponsorship package” he said.
“I don’t expect them to take this brand for granted. The brand alone has a lot of respect and now that we sponsor them, they must behave like McDan,” he concluded.
