The Hasaacas ladies team did the country proud in the just ended Confederation of African Football (CAF) women’s champions league competition in which they came in second in what can only be described as a strong showing the the competition.
Though a team sport, a player who shown brightest in her team was Hasaacas ladies, Evelyn Badu, who was crown the best player and also chalked up the top scorer in the tournament in the maiden edition of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women’s Champions League tournament that took place in Egypt.
Evelyn banged a total of five (5) goals into opposition nets to ensure that her team made it all the way to the final where they however became unstuck. They player has revealed that she looks up to former player and Barcelona legend Andreas Iniesta, who she described as her idol in football.
She made this revelation amongst other in an interview Accra-based Happy 98.9FM after touching down into the country from the tournament host nation, Egypt.
“I was happy to have won the best player of the competition. I will like to thank my teammates for their support and assistance.”
“We did our best in the tournament and it’s unfortunate we couldn’t win”, she said in an interview on Wamputu Sports with Joe Debrah on Happy 98.9FM
