Co-founder and former Chief Executive Officer of now defunct Unique Trust (UT) Bank has revealed that he is retired when it comes to banking as he does not nurse any hopes or dreams of re-establishing UT Bank or any other financial institution for that matter.
Kofi Amoabeng’s Unique Trust (UT) Bank he co-founded with another collapsed during Ghana’s 2017 Banking sector clean up with rumours that he wand his outfit was targeted by the Government.
The former military man turned businessman says he has achieved a lot in life and changed the stories of many countless other, that he is content with the life he has lived and for that matter does not have to prove anything to anyone by coming back into the banking scene.
“When it comes to banking, I am not trying to re-establish myself. I am not young and I am grateful for what God has used me for. I have touched so many lives.
“I have changed the world around me and that is what we are supposed to do,” he told Benjamin Akakpo on Joy Prime Morning.
He however did not close the door firmly shut on ever making an appearance in the banking sector, saying that should he be seen making moves in the sector it would probably be as a board member of chairman of a Banking institution, “I will probably be on the board of a bank or Chairman for a bank, but I am not going to dress up and go in as a CEO.”
