Ghanaian boxer Isaac Dogboe bearing the ring name, ‘The Royal Storm’ made a winning return to boxing after what can best be described as a sabbatical away from boxing with a majority decision over Puerto Rican boxer, Christopher Diaz.
Isaac Dogboe came out on top on 2 of the 3 judges score boards while it was even split on the other judge’s score board. The points read 96-94 on Judge Tim Cheatham’s scorecard in favour of Isaac Dogboe and 97-93 on Judge Don Trella’s scorecard in favour of the Ghanaian boxer, the points were evenly shared on Judge Erik Cheek’s score card.
This results ensured Dogboe came out victorious over the Puerto Rican with a majority decision. Isaac Dogboe dominated the Puerto Rican for long periods of the game especially in the opening moments where he made sure the Puerto Rican was not given breathing space to dictate the direction of the bout.
Dogboe started the better of the two and dominated the first three rounds. He was unable to knock out Christopher Diaz to make his work easier, but he made sure he racked up those points in the early stages of the bout
Dogboe’s victory over Diaz is sure to be well received by his people back home in Ghana where boxing is a very big sport in the country though an untapped potential resource.
